Of good friends and good moments

>> Sunday, June 28, 2009

With my husband's support with babysitting our daughter, I had the pleasure of enjoying a little escapade for two days with an almost sister to attend a another almost-sister's wedding in Ohio. Attempting to combine a bit of a vacation, we went to Maumee River for a brief moment of quiet in the company of nature. What a beautiful and peaceful location! Only the splash from the rapids, the songs of the birds, and the distant swinging of tree branches to the tune of the breeze could be heard.

Now, all weddings are beautiful, but what distinguished this couple from other brides and grooms I have seen was how natural their relationship is already. Ever been around that pair that just seems to have the magic? These two have IT! I am grateful to share their friendship and to have witnessed and documented (as a gift - I really do not do weddings) the beginning of a wonderful life of togetherness.

I returned home to a very happy little girl and delicious home-made French toast for dinner (made by my wonderful husband!) Overall, this one was one of those weekends that served as a reminder of what the true gift in my life is: The present moment with my family and friends.
